Perennial Ryegrass(Lolium perenne)
Ryegrass is often the most used component in a lawn mixture. The grass possesses two very important properties, namely easy and fast establishment and high resistance to wear. It is therefore ideal for use on areas which are exposed to wear, such as football fields, playgrounds and private gardens. Because it is so easy to establish, it is also the ideal species for oversowing. A whole new generation of lawn ryegrass has been bred in the last five years by DLF-TRIFOLIUM. Apart from their good wear tolerance, the new varieties have been bred to be fantastically fine-leaved and dense. These varieties are thus especially suitable for ornamental lawns. Varieties such as Sauvignon, Margarita, Jessica and Greenway are new varieties from DLF-TRIFOLIUM which possess these attractive qualities.
