Allows the drought tolerant grasses to establish well in dry areas
Stays greener during drought
Easy to maintain
Deep rooting maximises water uptake
Tall fescue, used as the main constituent of this mixture, is characterized by forming the deepest root structure of all lawn grasses. The deep root system encourages water uptake from a large soil volume and assures the grass an adequate water supply in dry periods. Deep rooting also offers a better supply of nutrients for the plants to grow in a healthy and persistent manner.
Keep the greenest lawn during drought
A normal lawn becomes yellow in colour during a drought period unless irrigated. Turfline Water Less is better able to stay green for a long drought period without irrigation. Even after a long drought period the grass is fast to recover due to the inclusion of some Smooth Stalked meadow grass which forms underground rhizomes from where new shoots develop and spread.
Establishment is the key-point
The best grasses are not always the fastest establishing. To nurse this drought tolerant grass through the early establishment period Turfline Water Less includes some perennial ryegrass; it is very fast in establishment and protects the slower grasses from weed invasion. Over time the perennial ryegrass will gradually disappear and will be taken over by the drought tolerant grasses. This transition period can be short or long, depending on the climate, but it will always offer the very best cover of fresh, green and soft grass - ready for
